Ghiyasuddin International School first to implement The 3D Classroom in the Maldives

Ghiyassuddin International School’s mission is that each child should be able to perform to the best of their ability, promoting cognitive, social, emotional and physical growth. Starting this fall, 500 students will use visual learning from Sensavis and help the sc hool achieve their mission.

Sensavis, the creator of the visual learning tool The 3D Classroom, has signed a contract with Ghiyasuddin International School as the first school in the Maldives. Apart from all teachers, around 500 of the 837 students between the ages six to 16 years will use The 3D Classroom in their learning process.

“We see visual learning and The 3D Classroom as an important part of our strategy going forward. Our teaching and learning process is very much supported by technology, and we are considered to be in the forefront when it comes to finding and using tools that empowers teachers and have a clear pedagogic benefit for the students. We have been selected to be a Microsoft Showcase school and are part of the global initiative A Leader in Me, focusing on the development of 21st century skills”, says Thoha Saleem, principal at Ghiyasuddin International School, and continues:
“The 3D visualizations will not only make the lessons more interesting, they will help engage the students since they will be able to understand complex concepts and remember what they learn for longer. Turning the students into producers by letting them make their own videos using the product was one of the key advantages for us.”

“We find that more and more customers globally are discovering the benefits of using The 3D Classroom as a platform for 21st century learning design. The combination of captivating visualizations, to be able to move freely between six subjects and perhaps the most important aspect of all, the fact that the products don’t give any answers, supports all aspects of this way of teaching and learning. We look forward to following Ghiyasuddin International School’s work”, says Fredrik Olofsson, President & CEO, Sensavis.

The 3D Classroom is a visual learning tool that simplifies learning by visualizing what is abstract and difficult to explain, making it possible for students to learn more in less time. It is a perfect platform for 21st learning design, and it works for students of all ages. It contains content within biology, mathematics, physics, chemistry, geography, and engineering; all developed together with educators and subject experts. The tool is currently used within all levels of education, from kindergarten to university, in over 35 countries.

About Ghiyasuddin International School

GIS is a co-educational school catering to children between the ages of 6 and 16 years. GIS, previously a government school, opened in 1999. The philosophy of the school is to form a partnership between home, school, and the community, as we believe education to be a three-way process, which can only be successful with support for the child from these three critical stakeholders in the child’s growth to responsible adulthood.

Our aim is to provide an environment conducive to learning where all children can develop knowledge, skills, and values through a child-centric curriculum that encompasses opportunities for cognitive, social, emotional, and physical growth.
